Exercising is the most reliable way to lose weight and maybe the cheapest too. Now-a-days gyms charge high fees, but it does not mean that you cannot lose weight without going to a fitness center. The best alternative is to take long and brisk walks. Walk to lose weight fast without burning a hole in your pocket. You merely need to walk an hour everyday to shed all that ugly fat. Sounds too much, but it is better than slugging out in the gym. Now before you get ready to grab your shoes and head out for a walk, read these useful tips to get the best results.

First of all select a good pair of walking shoes, in which you are comfortable. Then look for comfortable clothing which won’t stick on to you much and absorb the sweat fast.

Then do some warm up exercises. If you do not, you will get cramps and body aches. Do not suddenly start out with an hour. On your first day walk for half an hour then slowly increase it to 45 minutes and then to an hour. Also start with moderate pace. Do not suddenly start with brisk walking.

First start out with moderate pace and then increase it slowly and steadily Also try to go for your walks early in the morning, when the air is fresh and rejuvenating as you will feel better. If you are an adventurous, you could also walk barefoot on the grass. Trust me, it feels great.

If you do not like walking alone form a group then find a suitable company. You could also take your pet along for company. Remember to take a bottle of water because you will certainly feel thirsty. But wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes before drinking the water after a walk if you wish to avoid a stitch in your side.

If you are very overweight and if you wish to walk to lose weight, you will need to catch your breath every half an hour. To catch your breath faster deliberately pant like a dog, it will help you.
